Flying the drone was not possible. What we thought was a compass calibration issue turned to be not this but attempting to take off in a “no fly zone” ie within 5 km of an airport ☹️. So we walked into Murray beach instead…

Still NO rain
In almost 3 weeks travel, the only (small) amount of rain was from thunderstorms on successive nights at Lilydale free camp. The countryside desperately needs rain 🌧. Pray boldly for rain 🌧!

Mackay (Day 2)
Then travelled west to Finch Hatton Gorge to check out the flying fox, a walk into the rainforest and maybe a swim!
