Camp on Allyn River (East Gresford)

Huge grassy sites and being a mid week stay we pretty well had the place to ourselves. From this base we traveled into Barrington National Park and then onto Chichester Dam for the day.

Ladies Well (Swimming hole)

Created from water flowing from the Allyn river were multiple water holes, some large enough to swim in. At 1st I decided the water was TOO cold so after morning tea departed. We hadn’t driven more than 1km away when I decide the opportunity to swim should not be passed up… what a good decision this was!!. The water was crystal clear and fresh (read COLD).

Bretti Reserve Campground

Located within 30 minutes of Gloucester and on the junction of the Barnard & Manning Rivers. We camped next to a group of people who were friends from the region and some from a now defunct country & western band. After dinner one evening Jennifer & I were invited to join the group to sing around the campfire. Jennifer played and sang… creating lasting memories. Due to recent heavy rainfall the rivers were muddy & running fast so not safe to swim in. Finally able to build a fire, cook a very tasty slow cooked meal and finish up with toasted marshmallows.

Pete & Bec’s rural property

Located close to Bobin NSW, Pete & Bec recently acquired property is being transformed with much personal effort. Living in a caravan they have already accomplished so much on this rugged & naturally beautiful terrain… a herd of goats, terraced vegetable gardens, access tracks, a concrete slab on which a “shed” will be erected and more!

Beach 4WD

We decided to travel up & back on North Shore beach. Always great fun and exciting activity. This time I had the new action camera attached to both the side and front of the car and shot drone footage as well.

Finally escaped lockdown!

Departed home as planned. Met 😊 Olivia & Adam for “coffee in the van” in the Hexham Bowling Club car park on way to Port Macquarie. Trip was uneventful. Set up and were joined soon after by Bob & Sue, John & Bev followed by David & Rosie late afternoon. Had a swim at Town Beach… Jennifer did really well, this being her 1st ocean swim!
