Fuel filters checked (as a precaution) but had to be replaced during 60,000km service. Asked for this to be done following “bad” fuel bought while in lock down and subsequent issues. Fortunately this issue I thought had been sorted but there must have been some bad fuel left in the tank… even though the tank was drained in Geraldton WA. Travelled over 15,000km without a problem. BTW… filters don’t normally look this colour even after usual replacement (every 40,000km).
Skyrail to Kuranda
Approximately 30 years ago we visited Cairns and took the train on the return trip to Kuranda. With a little hesitation we decided to visit Kuranda again, this time via the Skyrail.
Crystal Cascades
A secluded freshwater swimming hole hidden in a tropical rainforest, it has a series of small waterfalls that flow into large pools.

Perfect location for lunch… Harbourside, Cairns. Of greater significance, Jennifer tried a beer for the 1st time in her life!
Port Douglas
While based in the Daintree we travelled south to spend the day in Port Douglas. Coffee, a swim in the ocean on the EAST COAST, PD lookout, lunch & a walk 😊.
Daintree
A “top 10” location (visited over 80 so far). Lush rain forest with endless shades of green; peaceful; commercialisation in a few areas only; creeks flowing with clean, clear water; variety of morning bird calls and much more experienced over 5 days. Road from ferry to our caravan site was narrow with many twists and turns!

Challenging 4WD road (steep eg max. was 31% gradient / up & down sections), north beyond Cape Tribulation & up to Bloomfield. On the way up we swam in Emmagen Creek… sooo refreshing. Picnic lunch at Bloomfield. Good fun, great day.

Back in the 1950s, many relics were being sold off for scrap metal. Old buildings were being condemned for demolition. Collector Harry Skennar had a vision – to preserve history for generations to come. He set about creating The Village back in 1973, bringing the first building, Elderslie House, onto the site beside Wild River.
Waterfalls… Atherton Tablelands
The Malanda Falls are part of the waterfalls and volcanic craters circuit on the Atherton Tablelands and are one kilometre from Malanda on the Malanda-Atherton Road.
Millaa Millaa Falls is a heritage-listed plunge waterfall.
Bonadio RV & Nature Park
What a contrast! It’s been over three months of hot days, no rain and cloudless skies. Now based in close proximity to Atherton at Bonadio RV & Nature Park. The max. day temperature has dropped from mid 30’s to 22 and it’s cloudy with light showers.
Only a short walk to the Barron River…
