Five Rivers Lookout
From the Five Rivers Lookout on the top of the Bastion Range at Wyndham, you can see where five Kimberley rivers meet and flow into the ocean… the Ord, Forest, King, Durack and Pentecost Rivers.
Good to know (haha)
There has barely been a cloud in the sky let alone strong breeze for the past 2 months… good to know the cyclone risk is low!
Gibb River Rd – East Kimberley “end”
Only a few weeks ago we travelled the other “end”…150km over the Gibb River Rd visiting Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek. This 660km infamous road provides access to many beautiful, remote locations eg El Questro which unfortunately are not open due to COVID.
Wyndham
A 100km drive north to Wyndham for the day… our most northerly location visited in W.A.
Zebra stones
Visited the workshop & showroom. The pieces bought are simple off cuts. The more intricate items are works of art… sculptures of animals small and large
Ivanhoe Crossing
Have been looking forward to doing this crossing for some time. This concrete causeway was built over the Ord River and remains in flow year round. The current from the river is very strong. Estuarine crocodiles can be seen at Ivanhoe Crossing, so the area is not safe for swimming.
Caravan parks
Today’s caravan parks are changing with the times. Example… an electric charge station at our CP!
Morning walk
Early morning breakfast, a walk around Lake Kununurra followed by online church… a great start to our day.
