Beach excursion
What started out as a back road trip via Pardoo to 80 Mile beach had to be modified when we could not find the final track section onto the highway. So we headed to a beach north of Pardoo Station. With lunch and chairs we enjoyed watching the fishing. Our departure was not so smooth… this was not a training exercise 😮
Pardoo Station
Only 500kms to travel from Karijini NP to Pardoo, but such a change in scenery & climate. Blue skies, day temperatures above 30° + ocean views.
Pardoo Station is situated in the heart of Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Located approximately 160 kilometres east of Port Hedland, Pardoo Station’s remote setting is a mecca for anglers, birdwatchers and those wanting a place to simply escape from everyday life. The caravan park (photo below) is nestled amongst trees and has grass! Swimming is definitely not recommended eg sharks and very shallow water for 100+ metres to get to waste depth.

Mildura Wreck (Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth)
The SS Mildura was wrecked off the North West Cape in June 1907. It left Fremantle carrying a cargo of cows. After the wreck, the crew got ashore safely but sadly the cows were lost.
