Alan’s condition improves!

Kidney function has improved… miraculous! Alan is eating a little, wanting to go home AND wants to know what it’s costing to stay in hospital… that’s the Alan I know sooo well!

The windiest we’ve experienced so far… Kiama, of course! Pulled in the slide out and slept in a shortened bed.

Decided to return home

Alan’s condition deteriorates

Taken to hospital by ambulance where tests reveal kidney failure. Doctors estimate he will live only a short time… from a couple of days to 1-2 weeks. Palliative care will be implemented.

We have come down with caravan, set up at Easts Beach CP, to support Mum & Alan

Broke

Winery overnight stay. Such a peaceful location chosen to break the long journey from Bingara back home. A booking was made for this “farmstay”, really was not necessary as we had the place all to ourselves.

Despite enquiring at the time of booking (advertised as a self contained site ie water, grey and black water) but advised we could fill our water tanks, we were not allowed to fill them 😫 on arrival. Manager suggested we head off and find a friendly service station or the like to fill up… not a good idea after we had just been driving for the past 5.5 hours. We decided to economise onboard water and try and make do. Hence the slight lean on the caravan to ensure access to the last drop!

So peaceful… so blessed to live in Australia 🇦🇺

Bingara

Another first… free camping! Beautiful, peaceful location on the Gwydir river. Wish we could have stayed longer.
